The Joint-Stock Company “Kazakhfilm” named after Shaken Aimanov is the leading movie company with its three industrial cases of 24 123.6 sq. m. Total area is 15.4 hectares.

“Kazakhfilm” makes 30 films per year averagely with 10 feature films between them.

The share of spectators of the Kazakhstan films has grown for last five years since 2003 almost in 3 times. The given indicator testifies to presence of interest to domestic films from a spectator audience last years.

The estimation of cash incomes is made according to Statistic Agency of Republic of Kazakhstan. The value of cash income in 2007 was 2 918 400 tenge in total with 6 414 100 visits of cinemas and average price for the ticket of 455 tenge.

The general cash gathering have grown in 3 times from 2003. It is possible to consider the given indicator low since at this time there was a double increase in the price of the ticket.

The considerable gain of cash gathering in 2007 in the sum of 131,5 million tenge has occurred as a result of 18 cinema halls on 3 166 places at constant cinemas of the higher category brought into operation and increase of the release at screens of the country of 55 foreign films in comparison with previous year. The market of Kazakhstan is not sated; at it is a lot of resources for the further development.

The share of gathering of the Kazakhstan films within last five years remains concerning steady and fluctuates from 4 to 10 % from the general cash gathering. On the average, domestic films occupy 7 % of the market. In 2007 the share of domestic films in the general cash gathering has made 7,1 %, and films produced by “Kazakhfilm” Cinema Studio - 0,02 %.

Distribution of cash gathering on the countries-manufacturers looks so:

• 7 % have collected the Kazakhstan pictures, among which “The Mongol”, “The Racketeer”, “Karoi” and other films of the private companies;
• 25-27 % - the Russian films;
• 60 % - American and other foreign films.

The major factor limiting increase of a share of domestic films in the general cash gathering is the small amount of the pictures released.
