Cinema Territory

Dear readers!

We named our magazine «Cinema Territory – Kino Alany» to underline that Kazakhstan is the cinema country. The cinema is made now and here. Director Timur Bekmambetov is already known all over the world. His exclusive interview you can read in this number of magazine. He has started to work over a new Kazakhstan film. The working name of a picture is «The Golden Warrior», and we hope that this film will bring our cinema into the new level.

Our films are claimed on the international cinema festivals. Only in 2008 the Kazakhstan films have been invited into more than 50 international film festivals and they have received about 20 prizes.

We do everything for Kazakhstan and foreign spectators to see our pictures. The big series of premieres has passed by the fall of last year, among them are such films as «Farewell, Gylsary!», «Mustafa Shokai», "Baksy", «The Gift to Stalin», «Kelin (Daughter-in-Law)», «Seker», «Who are you, Mr.Ka?», «Birzhan Sal», «The Jump of Afalina». You can read about these films in our magazine.

The magazine «Cinema Territory – Kino Alany» is an open information platform for all independent studios because we do one common deed: we create our national cinema.

And still, the magazine is the space in which cinema continues to live and be discussed after you have already left a cinema hall. Stay with us and you will feel becoming a part of a magic filmland!
