The information on principal views of the activity, rendered services and capacities on DDTC of the “Kazakhfilm” joint-stock company

The department of decoration and technical constructions (DDTC) is one of technical divisions of the "Kazakhfilm" joint-stock company in the course of production of the films, performing the works connected with graphic and decoration of Film projects and maintenance of film crews with various kinds of decor constructions

The short characteristic of industrial sites:

• Joiner's site with a floor space – 498 m2. The equipment stock is presented by 12 units of woodworking equipment for general purposes (groove-cutting, drilling and so on)
• Stage properties site with floor space - 116м2. An equipment stock with a vacuum-moulding machine. 
• Mechanical site with floor space - 211m2. The stock of metal-cutting, electric welding, pressing equipment 15 units in total.

Principal views of DDTC activity are:

Construction and service of decoration complexes, both on natural sets, and in film-making pavilions made under director's plan and under working sketches of artists of films.

The basic types of natural scenery:

• Building of auls, settlements, winterings, including the houses-mud huts, yurtas; frame, brick, stone constructions, economic constructions (shelters, canopies, wells, drinking bowls for cattle, wattle fences, hitching posts and so on)
• Building of the big complex constructions including various objects such as: fortresses, city quarters, mosques, training camp, various engineering constructions (bridges, towers, towers). As an example is building of art-decoration complex “City of Turkestan” constructed in 2003 on the bank of the Ili River in 115км from of Almaty for shootings of “The Nomad”.

The basic materials used at building of natural scenery:

• lumber
• round timber
• brick
• cane
• plywood
• iron
• clay
• sand
• cement
• other finishing and paint and varnish materials.

Principal views of constructed scenery in film-making pavilions: apartments, offices, hotel rooms, rooms, bank storehouses, caves and separate fragments of palaces, etc.

As an example, scenery of such films of last years as “Kelin”, “Farewell Gulsary!”, “Mustafa Shokai”, “Who are you, Mr. Ka?”.

Manufacturing and repair of the various requisite, details to scenery, manufacture of various stage works.

Wooden furniture and joiner's products - benches, tables, cases, stools, beds, chests, doors, frames, window sills and so forth

Requisite: cudgels, bludgeons, spears, pistols and guns, sabres, monetary packs, the sealed monetary blocks, caravan bales, cannons, carriages, vases and foam plastic sculptures, carts, wheelbarrows, sledges, models of people and animals, mills.

Allocation Services of film-making pavilions for shootings of various clips, presentations and so forth

There are two film-making pavilions, including:

Pavilion № 1 — the typical pavilion with the area of 720m2, working height 7m. In a ceiling at the top of pavilion is located a metal construction with the load-lifting mechanisms (electro telphers, manual portable winches), intended for fastening of lighting scaffoldings, lifting and fixing of separate elements of scenery and hanging of various backgrounds.

Till the end of current year the pavilion № 1 will be finished.  It will be modernized and upgraded with installation of the mechanical equipment, the centralized computer management and lighting devices, which will allow making both filming and shooting of various television programs including serials.

The pavilion № 2 is similar to pavilion № 1 with the same floor space and the load-lifting equipment. For 2009 its modernizations is planned, and it will allow carrying out the organization of various television shootings.

Besides the specified film-making pavilions № 1 and № 2 for 2009 the work on re-equipment of an available premise (210m2) into the studio of special effects for the computer drawing is planned.
